Dance + Music Collaboration
A duet that explores the realities of friendship and the delicate balance between two humans who grow together and apart. Exposing the volatile undercurrents of intimacy, and illustrating the thin and swelling line between a tight embrace and the aftermath of a chokehold.

F R I E N D was a music and dance work created in collaboration with critically acclaimed composer Rasmus Zwicki in 2017.
The focal point of the soundscape revolved around a baby accordion, where the dancers would move in synergy with the ebb and flow of the bellows.
The performance was performed where occasionally the dancers would play the accordion live, obscuring the experience of sound and where the music was coming from. This exploration between both dance and music held both facets as equal counterparts.
In this work we see both characters grow together and pull apart in an episodic series of events, which highlights the journeys of two people whose love for and investment in one another only fuel their futures into despair and emotional distance.
